I’ve been working on this story for nearly a year and it’s finally finished. I’ve very proud of it and I hope it’s good enough for my lovely readers! This is a finished series and won’t be abandoned. I’m planning to post a chapter a day (at roughly the same time) until it’s finished.
Thomas let himself into Kiral’s flat and found Patrick undressing for Kiral. Thomas held back. Kiral was stroking Patrick’s face tenderly as he watched him undress. Thomas smiled wistfully. He kind of thought Kiral might actually love Patrick. Thomas knew he was better off striking out on his own.
He cleared his throat. Kiral looked round and gave Thomas a smile. “You want to talk to me? I’ve seen this coming.”
“Yeah. I can wait.”
“No. It’s important.” He stroked Patrick’s bare arm. Patrick was just in his underwear now. “Go and make a cup of tea. We’ll get back to our time in a little while.”
Patrick nodded and glanced at Thomas, biting his lip.
“Go on, Patrick,” said Kiral, a little sharply. “Do as you’re told.”
Patrick hurried out and Thomas and Kiral sat down on the couch together. Kiral raised his eyebrow at Thomas. His submissive behaviour had gone. There was no more sitting at Kiral’s feet for Thomas.
“Kiral, I’m…leaving.”
Kiral nodded. “Yeah. I thought so. You got a plan?”
“I’ve saved my money. Getting a flat with Ianto.”
Kiral put his hand in his pocket and brought out his wallet. “Here,” he said, taking out a wad of cash and handing to Thomas. “Consider it a thank you.” He reached out and stroked Thomas’s cheek tenderly. “For being my boy all these years. You weren’t the perfectly behaved boy by all means but you were a lot of fun.”
Thomas grinned. “Yeah. Patrick’s a good boy. You’ll be happier just the two of you.”
Kiral put his arms around him and hugged him. “We’ll miss you, though.”
“I’ll be around,” said Thomas. “I just…you know, I need to strike out on my own.”
Kiral pulled back and gazed tenderly at him. “You’ll do well out there. You’ve got the ability. Now it’s time to go and do it.” He gave Thomas a gentle kiss on the cheek, then stood. “I’ll send Patrick in to say goodbye. Don’t be afraid to visit.”
Thomas smiled. “I won’t.”
He watched Kiral go into the kitchen and heard him talk in a low voice to Patrick. After a moment, Patrick came in, crying. He was still just in his underwear but didn’t seem to care.
Thomas opened his arms and tugged Patrick close. Patrick’s tears soaked into Thomas’s shoulder and Thomas just held him.
“I’ll visit,” he whispered and kissed Patrick’s head. “I’ll let you know where I’m staying and you can come see me.”
“Don’t want you to leave.”
“I know. But you’ll be happier with just you and Kiral. You mean a lot to him, you know.”
Patrick smiled shyly, wiping the tears from his cheeks. “I know. I think I…kinda love him.”
Thomas grinned. “Good. Now, go and be happy. He never even sends you with clients anymore.” He whispered in Patrick’s ear. “I think he loves you too.”
Patrick grinned back. “Maybe. I’d…better get back.”
“Yeah.”
Patrick turned back towards the kitchen.
“See ya around, kiddo,” Thomas called after him. He received a beaming smile in return.
When he’d gone, Thomas took the bag he’d packed of his meagre possessions and headed out into the world.
* * *
Ianto was gone. Jack couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t fair. And the worst thing about it was that he understood exactly why Ianto had left.
Jack stood and went over to the cupboard in his wall. Ianto had gone. Maybe he’d never come back. Jack swallowed hard at that thought. He opened the cupboard.
He thought back on their time together. He’d treated Ianto badly. He’d been self-centred and consumed by his own worries. He’d taken his emotions out on Ianto. He’d used Ianto just like all the other men in his life.

Date: 2010-09-01 08:05 am (UTC)On the other hand, Ianto's determination is charming, and I think he and Thomas will do well for each other. Our boy always does better with someone to look after, and it might help him heal from Michael. Should be interesting when he meets up with Jack again...

Date: 2010-09-01 08:55 am (UTC)I'm glad Thomas didn't have any problems with Kiral. It'll be good for Ianto to have someone to look after and look after him in return.
