I think the Jack and Ianto in all Branwen's stories both have their fair share of love, brattiness and discipline. There are plenty where Jack gets dealt with. In this particular story, Ianto acts like a total brat-asshole. Jack is the leader of Torchwood 3. Coming home to cuddles and lasagne can never be his priority. Ianto didn't even ask if he was ok! Jack shouldn't have to excuse himself for having the weight of the world on his shoulders. If I were him I would have walked out of the kitchen immediately. But it all happens over and above the understanding they both have of taking care of each other. The most important thing was that Ianto was almost hysterical. Jack did what he felt he should do to help him with it. And then divised a punishment that made up for the neglect - a week by his side. I love the fact that both are driven by unswerving and unconditional love for one another. I take the story as a metaphor - someone loves you that much they stick by you no matter what. They never abandon you. As for naughty Jack - have a look through. There are over 240 stories on this journal and Jack suffers quite frequently, as he should! :-)
